Russia opens first criminal case on crypto bourse embezzlement
MOSCOW, Mar 22 (PRIME) -- Russia has opened its first criminal case on embezzlement of a cryptocurrency bourse assets and the suspect has been detained in the Moscow Region with bags with over 190 million rubles, the Interior Ministry’s official representative Irina Volk told reporters on Tuesday.
“Investigators of the Interior Ministry of Russia are looking into the country’s first criminal case on embezzlement of money and property of a cryptocurrency exchange,” Volk said.
The theft was committed by one of the owners of an online Internet floor, where digital financial assets can be bought, sold or exchanged for fiat money.
